Is there an iPhone app that works as picture mail?

I know that you can e-mail pictures from the iPhone, but I’d like to actually send picture mail in text message form. Is there a downloadable app that will do that?

    Actually, it can be done. Wireless providers assign their subscribers an email address based on their phone number. If you send an email to that address, it’s delivered as a text message. If you attach a photo to that message, it’ll get delivered as a picture message. The trick is just knowing the address of the contact you want to send the message to (I’ll give you that in a second).

    1. Sending a MMS (Picture Message) with the iPhone.

    Go to your email client on the iPhone (the account you use to send email messages). In the to filed, put in the the phone number of the person you wish to send the video message to followed by their wireless subscriber’s email address (See below). If the person you wish to send the message to is with Sprint and their phone number is 222-333-4444 you would enter it as. IMPORTANT: Only use ten digit numbers in the US (Do NOT add a 1 in the front).

    Other Providers messaging addresses:

    Alltel =
    ATT = or @text.att.net
    Boost Mobile =
    Cingular (ATT) =
    Einstein PCS =
    Sprint =
    T-Mobile =
    US Cellular =
    Verizon Wireless =
    Virgin Mobile =

    2. Receiving a MMS with the iPhone.

    Simply have your contacts send picture messages to your phone number @text.att.net. So if your number is 222-333-4444, they should send it to. Hope that helped out.
