Is Apple iPhone 3G worth the money?

My current $30 Telstra cap runs out in October, I have a samsung and it is served it’s purpose. But I am also sick of carrying so many gadgets such as phone and ipod in my pocket, also want something with internet so I can look up bus timetables etc.

Is the iPhone worth the money?
If so who is the dealer to go with, or is outright with pre-paid better
If not what are my other options

NB. Australia only

Also, what does it mean by data plans.. they say 250MB or so, but how quickly will that get used up?

First of all: Yes. I believe it is worth the money. It has tons of features for the price.

Secondly, I would go with Optus, maybe Telstra. They both have good plans. And also you’ve got prepaid or plans or outright. That’s it.

250mb will get you about 50 songs downloaded off the Mobile iTunes store, or quite a lot of map access, or a bit of video. If you buy extra data go for the higher region of download. Otherwise you’ll use up the usage before you know it.

    Hope that helps!
