if i am not eligible for an upgrade will i still pay $99 for this iphone from walmart if the rumor is true?

I’m not sure. But all I know and heard was that Apple will be selling the iPhone at selected Wal-Mart and Sam’s Club stores three days AFTER Christmas. Most people wanted to know why not before.

At this point, it’s clear that the $99 iPhone 3G rumor was just that: rumor. Walmart tsays the iPhone will launch at 9am December 28th. At launch, only the 8GB ($197) and 16GB ($297) iPhone 3Gs will be available with a required signature on a 2-year ATT contract.
