Just make sure that it has a little bell beside it that indicates that song can be turned into a ringtone. Then after purchasing and downloading the song, go into the ringtone section (which is usually an option in the left menu on the side of your iTunes window) take that song and crop it where you want to use the song as your ringtone. Either that or you can get free ringtones from cydia if your iphone is jailbroken, but they may not be ones you want. They do have a fairly decent selection to choose from and people are adding more to the collections.
